Ecolodge Viewpoint – The best resort in Burma

I admit that while planning my trip to Myanmar (Burma), I took into account that I would have to compromise on mid-level hotels because this is a country where tourism has only begun to develop in recent years. Well – I was wrong big time! I was privileged to stay at a high-class hotel in Myanmar’s and should be happy to tell you here.
The Ecolodge Viewpoint Resort, located in the city of Nyaungshew near Inla Lake, was an example of high class hotel: luxurious cabins as the rooms, high-class food, great views and the most fun: A pool within the hotel private artificial lake, with a non-rigid bottom.
The resort is built of cabins that are surrounded by the lake, with each cabin containing two large spacious rooms. In addition, the swimming pool that actually floats above the lake and has a non-rigid bottom which gives a pretty cool experience. Above the reception stand is the hotel’s restaurant, a buffet-style breakfast that arrives at the table in the morning included) and a nice dinner (paid).
The hotel offers spa services at fair prices, and there is an active bar for alcoholic and beverage drinks.
The room contains a large double bed and a comfortable super bed, a small living room, a lot of storage cabinets, a mini-bar, a safe and a balcony with two chairs and a lake view. The shower is luxurious and comfortable with a variety of shampoos and lotions. Guests are given robes and flip flops. I recommend not to leave the windows or balcony door open because there are many mosquitoes…
True, this is a very expensive restaurant compared to what you will get at most of the restaurants in Inla Lake, but on the other hand it is the only place I have received dishes from Burmese cuisine that I really enjoyed eating. We chose the “Eat as You Can” route, where we paid $ 33 in advance for each person and got a refill for the meat skewers we requested as well as all the toppings and desserts.
Disclosure: I was invited by the resort to review it for a blog. You can contact the hotel on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/InleViewPoint/
